Caprone with its 58 leather colors is a designer’s best friend. Color consistentcy, durability and easy care makes Caprone a perfect choice. Usually leather color is all about brown, but Caprone gives you a far reaching color pallete. Caprone is practical and has a soft draping hand. Caprone leather is specified to meet the heavy standards and testing requirements of the contract and hospitality markets. You can have a soft color with a tough finish to accent any area. Caprone hides are a .9-1.1mm thickness in order to accent the drape and hand of this leather. The selection of raw material for this leather is a combination of European and Brahma hides. They are selected because of the quality of the surface of the material and the large size, but if you have never seen a Brahma cow then you need to understand that they have a hump on their neck that may leave a hole in the hide when it is tanned. This just a feature of that breed of cowhide and you should expect it when ordering this product. This hole does not interfere with the yield of your leather if you have the correct requirements for the job. They are clean and nice and the tanning process is specifically designed for lightweight leathers and therefore making Brahma hides a perfect choice for so many applications. After tanning Caprone hides are dyed using water-based dyes to set the base color and then specific pigments are applied to give the leather its final color. Caprone is a top grain leather that is vacuum dried to give the surface a tight even grain. A protective topcoat is applied to the surface to ensure the leather is durable and will meet the testing specifications required by the Hospitality and Contract industries.
