Custom solid hair on hide cow hides: is a custom solid dying leather program for hair on hides. This program allows you to select any color you desire and have hair on hides made as close as possible to that color. We have color options below that we have produced and can produce again, they are great guide colors. We do not have samples of these colors available since they where custom dyed. We can supply a sample of the feel and quality of the hair on hides you will recieve. Your sample to be used to match the custom hair on hide must be at least a 2x2 size piece. We will match to any surface or material. Strike offs are not available, due to the fact that hair on hides vary and the strike off may not even be a good representation of the final color. Expect color variation in hair on hide products and understand the final color will not be exactly as the sample you provide, but a very close match. Hair on Hides Custom Colors: are cow hides that have been tanned without removing the natural hair. HOH have a specific tanning process to retain the hair. During the tanning process the hides are treated with oils in order to keep them as soft as possible. Since we are using a substrate that is natural you have to expect the natural features to be expressed in the product like color variation and in the texture of the hair.

Make sure you understand that you cannot match them exactly. Remember that when dying hair the color is absorbed differently in each strand of hair and the pigment left behind in each strand will affect the way the hair takes the color. HOH are great for upholstery and as rugs because they require little maintenance. HOH are a category that is not tested to have any specific leather specifications.
