Eccentric is a true antique. Made using European raw material this full top grain leather is dyed for color and then a light spray of colored aniline wax is applied to the surface. Then the hides receive a lengthy hand wiping process to give them that broken and aged effect. After the hides have been antiqued the leather is milled to create a worn and deeply aged surface. A clear water based top coat is added to for protection. Eccentric hides will have color variation from lot to lot and from hide to hide. It is important to understand these hides will not be the same color every time due to the way they are manufactured. Due to the fact that each hide will take the dyes and waxes differently it is hard to make them look exactly the same. It is very important to know this when using Eccentric that the leather will age and change with time and use. Natural characteristics such as healed scars, neck and belly wrinkles will be apparent throughout the hides. Like most aniline leathers prolonged exposure to light will cause them to fade.
