A traditional ostrich leather pattern that is made to simulate the look of exotic ostrich hides. The design is straight forward and a clear winner for any application. This full grain leather is tanned using a specific tanning process that is formulated to ensure the leather retains the decorative embossing deep into the surface of the leather. Ostrich is embossed using a mold instead of a standard embossing plate, which allows the embossing have a three dimensional look. The ostrich design is a traditional pattern that has been around for decades and the
design is an overall non-directional pattern, yet in the finishing process you will find some embossing lines in the pattern that are part of the process of making this leather. They should be treated as a feature of the leather. Ostrich is layered with water-based finishes and glazes that give this leather its rich deep color. Since all of the finishes are applied by hand, inconsistencies from hide to hide and within each hide should be understood and appreciated. Expect color variation from swatch to order. A clear water-based top coat is applied for protection. Natural characteristics such as healed scars, scratches, neck and belly wrinkles are part of pure aniline leathers and should be understood. Like most pure aniline leathers prolonged exposure to light will cause them to fade.
