Plato truly a tradition hand wipes leather with depth and character. Plato is our multi tone hand stained leather that will have a beautiful detail that will give any application a truly aged feel. The sub straight for the Plato is a full top grain environmentally friendly tanned cowhide. Plato hides are dyed for color in a cream to tan shade so that the dyes and stains that are hand applied will be absorbed into the surface of the leather. We build the effect much like you do on a faux finish wall effect. The colors that are applied will blend and start to create its own look and add so much character to the leather. Due to the fact the hides are hand finished color variation should be expected. Colors will vary from lot to lot and even with the hides. It is impossible to control the way the leather will absorb the dyes and that is what makes Plato so unique. Natural Characteristics such as healed scars, neck and Belly wrinkles should be understood. Prolonged exposure to light will cause the leather to fade.
