Provost may have a look of the tradional old world but is versatile and enduring with a soft waxy hand. Provost hides are dyed for color using environmental friendly tanning procedures. These sheen leather hides are given a slight two tone effect with a bit of oil to the surface of the leather. A final clear water-based top coat is added to the surface of the leather to give it a smooth soft feel. This full top grain European leather is great for any application. Nature’s markings are part of the appeal of this leather should be appreciated. Healed scars, bug bites, neck and belly wrinkles all contribute to the character of Provost. Note that Provost is not considered a pull-up leather but does have more color variation
due to the bit of oil used in production. Color variation is a natural characteristic of any aniline leather. Colors will vary from dye lot to dye lot. Prolonged exposure to light will cause pure anilines to fade.
