Hair on hides Queen Croko is a traditional crocodile belly grain laser etched on hair on hide. Queen Croko is a hair on hide cow hides that have been tanned without removing the natural hair. Queen Croko hides have a specific tanning process to retain the hair. During the tanning process the hides are treated with oils in order to keep them as soft as possible. Queen Croko hides are bleached to remove as much of the natural pigment in the hides possible. Even though the hides are
bleached the natural pigment will never be fully washed away and you will notice the color variation with the back ground color of these hides. Understand these hairs on hides will not match your swatch exactly and you will have color variation from swatch to your order. Remember that when dying hair the color is absorbed differently in each strand of hair and the pigment left behind in each strand will affect the way the hair takes the color. The crocodile design is laser cut in to the hide and as the laser etches the design it will expose the dyed crust of the leather. You will have the crust contrast framing the hair cut design. The contrast will vary due to the fact the leather is dyed for color and then the etching will vary based on the different dye lots of hides used for the different productions. HOH are not tested to meet any leather specifications. If you are looking for a specific spec please let us know and we will do our best to help you with this need. Sometimes the laser etched hides have a smell and you should know that this will dissipate over time, but if you do not like the smell then you can get an anti-smell spray from the LCK leather care program. Note that they can fade with prolonged exposure to sunlight and the hair & color will dissipate with use in the high traffic areas.
We recommend the LCK care and cleaning products.
