Rancho is a leather with timeless appeal. Rancho is a buffed an distressed leather with lots of high and low color. The look we strive for in this product is that of an old library chair with generations of character and history built in. Every blemish tells a story. Rancho hides are dyed for color using environmentally friendly water-based process. Each hide is hand sprayed with the same dyes to give a high and low tone to each hide. A layer of wax is added to the surface that is the catalyst to encourage the leather to wear and break over time. A clear water-based top coat applied to give the leather luster. Rancho hides are then hand buffed to give the surface a soft subtle two tone. This buffing process does expose the crust color of the leather and this will add an extra color variation issue. Buffing tends to change the look of the surface and the color will develop differently each time and from hide to hide and lot to lot. Do not expect to match these hide from one shipment to the next. This full top grain leather is great for any furniture style. Natures markings are apparent throughout every hide and should be appreciated. (Healed scars scratches, neck and belly wrinkles.) Expect color variation within a dye lot and from hide to hide. Prolonged exposure to sunlight will fade Rancho
