Richmond is made with apparel leather technology. Tanned using a process that was designed for apparel leather. This process gives Richmond an apparel hand yet is durable enough for upholstery use. Richmond has a softness that makes it a perfect leather to be used in all types of applications. Richmond hides are dyed for color using environmentally friendly processes. An even water based pigment is applied to the surface and then a slightly darker color is used as a tipping over the surface in order to give the leather a slight sheen. Expect color variation for dye lot to dye lot. Natural characteristics such as healed scars, scratches, neck and belly wrinkles will be apparent throughout the hide hides. Prolonged exposure to light will cause leather to fade.
