Stetson is created on a European crust; this top grain leather has a worn distressed appearance. The distressing process affects every hide differently and you will notice that some hides will have a slight worn nap similar to old jeans and others may have a waxy appearance. This is a unique characteristic that makes Stetson the perfect lived with look. Stetson hides are dyed for color using "green technology" and all hides have water and stain resistance chemicals added in the drum for protection. Expect color variation from hide to hide and within a dye lot. Expect to find natural characteristics such as healed scars, scratches, neck and belly wrinkles throughout the hides. Stetson has a waxy hand, which will deep and darken with use. Prolonged exposure to light will dry and fade Stetson.
