Texakana is a small alligator leather pattern. The design is a very small horn back gator embossing. These full top grain leather is tanned using a specific tanning process formulated to ensure the leather retains the decorative embossing for years to come. Texakana is embossed using a mold instead of a standard embossing plate, which allows the embossing have a three dimensional appearance. Texakana hides are layered with three different water-based finishes and glazes that give the leather its rich deep color. Since all of the finishes are applied by hand inconsistencies from hide to hide and within each hide should be understood and appreciated. Since this leather is embossed you may notice some plate lines in the finished product. Expect color variation from swatch to order. Note that the finish work on the Texakana has a flat and shinny appearance. The horn back area is dull and the belly area is finished with a higher sheen. A clear water-based top coat is applied for protection. Please expect natural characteristics such as healed scars, scratches, neck and belly wrinkles in Texkana. Natural characteristics are part of pure aniline leathers and should be understood. Like most pure aniline leathers prolonged exposure to light will cause them to fade.
